👂Language Exchange With No Boundary👄

Posted on Posted in Languages

Recently , my friends just asked me to recommend some nice language exchange tools to help them improve their language skills by practicing with native speakers. Basically, you can find numerous self-learning tools , but it’s a little bit hard to find someone to practice the language with. What can you do? So far, I’ve learned more than 5 languages. Personally, I am crazy about learning different languages . I think the most interesting part about learning language is to interact with people, to talk and to share the culture. Thus, I decided to write an article about some really useful tools for Language Exchange! 😁😁😁

Conversation Exchange

Conversation Exchange , I had known this website for a while but I didn’t really use it until I learned spanish in Guatemala. Around that time, 4 hours spanish course per day plus home stay , I was surrounded by people who could help me with my spanish already but I still preferred to meet new friends in person and also practice spanish at the same time.

This website can help you to find the language exchange partner based on your location or practicing all different languages online. If both you and your new language partner are interested at practicing the language together, booom, you can just start your language exchange !

I also used this website when learning Thai in Bangkok, Thailand. After some messages chit-chat with thai people , we just started our face-to-face language exchange. At that moment, I exchanged my english for their thai language. After several times practicing, we all became friends afterwards. They all said to me that it was really amusing to see a foreigner speaking thai!!!! 😳

SharedLingo – Language Exchange Chatroom

In my opinion, I reckon SharedLingo is the former version of Sharedtalk. Since I was freshman in university, I had used Sharedtalk till few months ago. Sometimes, I chatted with foreigners to know more about their culture and also practice english and french. Once in a while, just before my traveling , I could also get some special recommendations about the city from a local. Thus, when Sharedtalk stopped offering service, I felt so upset because it did accompany me for a quite long time. Most important, this website wasn’t like other chatroom filled with some sexual things and all the chatter there were actually keen to practice languages, no matter writing part or oral speaking part!  All in a sudden, I found a website called SharedLingo few months ago. All the web setting is just like Sharedtalk but more stylish!!! I am so thrilled !  If you suddenly want to chat with other people and also practice your language , Sharedtalk is highly recommended to you ! Let you start a cross-cultural conversation straight away! 👍

HelloTalk APP – A good helper to correct your grammar

HelloTalk language exchange App is to post something on your personal wall just like Twitter or Weibo to communicate with people around the world and also interact with people via private message. The most amazing part about this App is that there is correcting function!!!!  You and other language exchange people can take turn to correct each one’s sentence✔︎✗, be each one’s teacher!!!! Improve everyone’s language ability gradually ! You know what! Everyone just love to correct you sentence!!! Haha!

Meetup – A website you can find all kinds of activities around the world

Meetup is a dating website right?! Tinder website version!? -NoNoNo!!!! I bet the first reaction about hearing Meetup that you have must be almost the same when I heard it! Meetup actually is a website that you can find a club to join or an activity to attend simply based on your interests! Hearsay, this website was founded by two New Yorkers with same hobby. One day, they just said ” Why can’t all people who share same hobbies meet up together and do the activity together? ” Thus, this website was created. All kinds of interesting activities can be found here, when I was in Sydney, Australia, once I got free time, I browsed through “Calendar “to see whether any interesting activity took place on the same day. It’s definitely one of my favourite platforms to find something to do. For example, I participated in a weekly activity which was jointed by French Language Club and Spanish Language Club. The meet-up point was at a bar, once you arrived, you have to greet with people there ” Hola? Bonjour?” to distinguish from the clubs. Everyone there was very good at oral speaking so it also impulsed me to study more back home then return to this activity to combat with others again! haha!!!!  😅

There are other interesting clubs as well, for example, Bitcoin club, Start- up club , Coffee Club, etc.. I also used Meetup in Bangkok, a great tool to meet some local people while you are travelling! Normally, you just need to pay the drink or food you order, perhaps a little bit money to cover the place renting. It would be written on the activity page clearly.

Above all,  these are the tools I use to do language exchange.Of course, I am sure there are abundant great tools I didn’t mention. Anyway, if you want to find a language exchange partner to practice the language you are learning, maybe you can try some of these tools! Share with your friends who also like to learn different languages as you do! ❤️😄

❤️Feel free to drop me a message if you have any questions or some stories you would like to share with me !❤️

  1. You’re so interesting! I do not suppose I’ve truly read
through something like that before. So wonderful
to find another person with unique thoughts on this topic.
Really.. thank you for starting this up. This site is something that’s needed on the internet, someone with a bit of originality!
